4. On-device Processing

All media analysis, editing, and generation is completed entirely on your device or inside your browser.

STIL. — best-frame extraction from video

The iOS app uses Vision Framework, Core ML (PiperSR), and the Apple Neural Engine. The web version runs ffmpeg.wasm and IndexedDB inside the browser.

STIL.TOON — turning faces into illustrations

Face detection (Vision Framework) and illustration generation (Image Playground SDK / Apple Intelligence) are both run on-device. No image is sent to Apple, our servers, or any third party.

STIL.BIZ — scanning and managing business cards

Cards are captured with VNDocumentCameraViewController, recognized via Vision Framework (OCR), and sorted into fields by Apple Intelligence (Image Playground SDK). All processing happens on your device and nothing is sent to our servers.

STIL.RECEIPT — reading and organizing receipts

Receipts are captured with VNDocumentCameraViewController, recognized via Vision Framework (OCR), and sorted into fields by Apple Intelligence. All processing happens on your device and nothing is sent to our servers.

STIL.ART — keep children's artwork framed, in 3D, and as photobooks

Flat works are captured by document scan or photo import; 3D works are reconstructed with Object Capture (PhotogrammetrySession). Auto-classification uses Vision Framework, transcription of the 'What is this drawing?' recording uses Apple's Speech framework, and photobook text generation uses Apple Intelligence (Foundation Models). Everything is completed on your device and is never sent to our servers.

Apple Intelligence requires a compatible device (iPhone 15 Pro and later). On unsupported devices, each app falls back automatically (STIL.TOON uses face stamps; STIL.BIZ and STIL.RECEIPT use rule-based sorting).

5. Photos and Face Data (STIL.TOON)

STIL.TOON is designed to let you share photos with privacy in mind by replacing faces with illustrations. While especially optimized for parents who want to safely share photos of their children on social media, the feature works for faces of any age.

  • Face detection is performed on-device using Apple's Vision Framework.
  • Face illustration is generated on-device using Apple Intelligence (Image Playground SDK).
  • Original photos, detected face data, and generated illustrations are never sent to or stored on our servers.

Generated images leave your device only when you explicitly save them to your photo library or share them through the system share sheet. These actions are always initiated by you.

6. Business Card Data (STIL.BIZ)

STIL.BIZ scans business cards and reads and organizes them on-device. Every step below happens entirely on your iPhone and is never sent to our servers.

  • Capture — Continuous scanning in a single session via VNDocumentCameraViewController. Skew and distortion are automatically corrected by Vision Framework.
  • Text recognition (OCR) — Performed on-device by Vision Framework.
  • Field sorting — Performed on-device by Apple Intelligence (Image Playground SDK). On unsupported devices, the app falls back to rule-based sorting.
  • Storage — Card images, recognized fields, and face photos (Pro) are stored in a local database. They are never sent to or stored on our servers.
  • Add to iOS Contacts / vCard export and import (Pro) — All initiated by your explicit action. Card data only leaves your device when you choose to send it.
About third-party personal information

Business cards contain personal information of third parties (such as your business contacts) — names, organizations, and contact details. Please treat this data as something you manage for legitimate business purposes, in compliance with applicable laws (the APPI in Japan, the GDPR in the EU, and equivalents in other regions).

7. Receipt and Invoice Data (STIL.RECEIPT)

STIL.RECEIPT scans receipts and invoices and reads and organizes them on-device. Every step below happens entirely on your iPhone and is never sent to our servers.

  • Capture — The camera is used only to photograph receipts and invoices. Skew and distortion are automatically corrected by Vision Framework.
  • Text recognition (OCR) — Performed on-device by Vision Framework.
  • Field sorting — Performed on-device by Apple Intelligence. On unsupported devices, the app falls back to rule-based sorting.
  • Storage — Receipt images and recognized fields (date, amount, store, tax breakdown, invoice registration number, and more) are stored in a local database. They are never sent to or stored on our servers.
  • Export and sharing (Pro) — CSV for accounting software, the electronic-bookkeeping set (ZIP), and sharing to the cloud or email are all initiated by your explicit action. Data only leaves your device when you choose to send it.
  • iCloud sync and encrypted backup (Pro) — iCloud sync is tied to your Apple ID and managed by Apple. The encryption key for backups is held by you; we never access their contents.

8. Recording & Transcription (STIL.NOTE)

STIL.NOTE transcribes and summarizes your recordings. All of the following happens on your iPhone and is never sent to or stored on our servers.

  • Transcription — performed on-device by Apple's Speech framework. Japanese and English are supported.
  • Speaker identification — performed on-device using FluidAudio and voiceprint matching. Enrolled voiceprints are stored only on your device.
  • Summaries & titles — generated on-device by Apple Intelligence (Foundation Models). A supported device is required.
  • Meeting documents (PDF) — text extraction and key points are processed on-device; the document itself is never uploaded.

iCloud sync is optional; when enabled, data is stored only in your own Apple iCloud (private database). All features work with sync off. Audio recorded on Apple Watch is transferred directly to your iPhone via WatchConnectivity (not through our servers).

Permissions: the microphone is used for recording, speech recognition for transcription, and Reminders only when you add summary to-dos to your Reminders.

9. Artwork Data (STIL.ART)

STIL.ART captures and scans children's artwork to frame it, turn it into 3D, and compile it into photobooks. All of the following happens on your iPhone and is never sent to our servers.

  • Capture and import — from the camera, your photo library, or document scan. Skew and distortion are corrected automatically by Vision Framework.
  • 3D scan — crafts are reconstructed in 3D with Object Capture (PhotogrammetrySession), on-device and never sent to our servers.
  • The 'What is this drawing?' recording — recording and transcription (Apple's Speech framework) happen on-device. The voice is the child's own.
  • Storage — artwork images, 3D models, recordings, transcripts, auto-classification tags, and artist name and birthdate (optional) are stored in a local database. They are never sent to or stored on our servers.
  • iCloud sync (optional) — when enabled, data is stored only in your own Apple iCloud (private database). All features work with sync off.
  • Export and sharing — videos, 3D models (USDZ and GLB), line-art SVG, and photobook PDFs are all produced by your explicit action. Artwork leaves your device only when you choose.

Artist name and birthdate are optional entries used to show the child's age at the time of creation. They are stored only on your device and are never collected by us.

10. Mac Control & Local Communication (STIL.HUB)

STIL.HUB lets you control your Mac (via STIL.HUB Companion) from your iPhone. All communication between the two stays within the same local network and is never sent to or stored on our servers.

  • Connection — your Mac is discovered over Bonjour on the same network and paired once with a 6-digit code. All subsequent communication is encrypted with AES-GCM.
  • Actions — app launching, key input, shortcuts, scripts, and text sending are executed by STIL.HUB Companion on your Mac. This requires the Accessibility permission on that Mac.
  • Files — Finder browsing and transfers are limited to your home folder, and browsed or transferred files are never sent outside your local network.

Remote control over the internet is not supported — by design, all communication stays on your local network. Pairing keys are stored in your iPhone's Keychain.

Permissions: Local Network is used to discover and connect to your Mac. Key input, scripts, and text sending run only on the Mac, based on the Accessibility permission you grant there.

11. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on the following Apple systems. We operate no servers or databases of our own.

Apple (App Store / StoreKit / iCloud) — used for STIL.ART Pro, STIL.TOON Pro, STIL.BIZ Pro, and STIL.RECEIPT Pro billing (StoreKit 2), and optional artwork, library, business-card, and receipt data sync across devices (iCloud). All are tied to your Apple ID and managed by Apple; we never hold or access this data.
